Parent Resources
We are so happy to have your family as part of our community!
We have compiled helpful forms and information for our parents below. If you have any questions or cannot locate something you need, please contact the front desk at office@daviswaldorf.org
Blackbaud Transition
DWS is now fully using it's new student information system called Blackbaud. We have streamlined the parent experience by bringing everything together in one online portal, including contracts, forms, tuition payments, and end of year reports. We will continue to add content to the new DWS Blackbaud Portal, so be sure to log in from time to time for new resources and community news.

The newsletter contains important community updates, school news, and articles written by the Director, office staff, and faculty about classroom life and school events. Parents and others are welcome to submit articles to be considered for inclusion. The deadline for submission is Monday 12:00 PM, the week of publication. These digital newsletters include important and timely information that may not be delivered through any other method. Please ensure that the office has your most current email address. Handbooks & Policies
The Parent Handbook is the main resource for our parent/guardian community. The Handbook contains information about school policies, administrative structures, and other pertinent information. All parents/guardians are asked to read through the full document in preparation for the school year. The Parent Handbook for the 2022-2023 school year has been updated. As such, new and returning families are asked to review and utilize this updated version.
COVID Guidelines
Below you will find the most updated iteration of our COVID policies. The CDPH released an updated set of guidelines in March 2023, and we have adjusted our policies to more closely align with their recommendations. Parents must still communicate ANY ABSENCE (illness or otherwise) to our office, via office@daviswaldorf.org.

Volunteering
Davis Waldorf School could not provide such an amazing learning environment without the help of our parent body. We request all parents give 30 hours of their time over the course of the school year. There are many ways parents can assist, and even the simplest of tasks are invaluable to our community life here.
Many of you have heard us say, "Many hands make for light work!" When our students see parents giving their time and energy to their school, it models for them the importance of service to the community. Please take a moment to fill out the survey below to let us know what volunteer opportunities you are most interested in and what times during the year work best for you.
Important Volunteer Forms
Volunteer Agreement Form 23-24
This form is needed for field trip chaperones and classroom volunteering . A new form must be turned into the office every school year.
Early Childhood Volunteer Immunization Requirements 23-24
California State Title 22 licensing requirements necessitate that all parent volunteers in our Early Childhood classrooms must have the following test results and immunization records on file. Please submit test results and/or documentation of immunization for the diseases listed in the form.
Automobile Use Policy 23 -24
This form is needed for anyone driving on field trips and extracurricular school activities. A new form must be turned into the office every school year along with an official print out of your DMV driving record (see below).
DMV Driving Record
A copy of your DMV driving record must be on file for anyone driving on field trips and/or extracurricular school activities. Please bring your printed driving record (not receipt) to the office. It costs $2 to get a copy of your driving record, which can be requested HERE on the DMV website. A new record must be turned into the office every school year.
Parent Volunteer Live Scan Request Form
This form is needed if you would like to chaperone on overnight field trips. It costs $67 (subject to change) and is good for the entire time you have children attending DWS. Please print, fill out the form and take it to your nearest LiveScan location.
Aftercare
Aftercare is available Monday through Friday on a contracted or drop-in basis (as space allows) until 5:30 p.m. The purpose of our Aftercare programs is to provide a supportive continuation of the school day in a familiar and secure environment. To sign up for Aftercare in advance, please submit an Aftercare Contract to the office. Aftercare contracts are included in the Back to School Packet released in August and are available to download below and on the DWS Blackbaud Portal. Please refer to the contracts and the packet below for detailed program policies. Drop-In care is available based on space and staffing availability.

Junebug Aftercare
Preschool & Kindergarten
The licensed June Bug Aftercare Program runs from
12:45 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on a daily basis in the kindergarten and preschool classrooms and playgrounds. Each child who participates in the Aftercare program is asked to lie quietly for the first portion of the program so as to provide a quiet resting time and to minimize disturbances for any nappers.
A healthy snack is offered to all children upon waking up from their rest period. We ask that parents do not pick up their children before 3:00 pm so as not to disturb the children at rest.
ADJUSTABLE: Junebug Aftercare Contract 23-24
Contracted Rate: $9/hour
Drop In Rate: $12/hour
Pick Up Time |
Contracted Rate |

Sunflower Aftercare
1st through 4th Grade
The Sunflower Aftercare Program is available from dismissal until 5:30 p.m. on school days. Our Aftercare program is intentionally designed as a “breathing out” time for the children after their busy school days. Therefore, supervised play and free choice activities are offered as opposed to structured group activities requiring participation. Crafts, reading, homework, building, and game options are available. An afternoon snack is provided. Pick up can occur anytime before 5:30 pm with billing calculated using quarter-hour increments.
ADJUSTABLE: Sunflower Aftercare Contract 23-24
Contracted Rate: $9/hour
Drop In Rate: $12/hour
Vacation Care
Vacation Care is offered on a limited basis during times when the school is closed. There is a minimum enrollment requirement for the program. If less than four children are signed up for the program on any given day, that day will be cancelled. Vacation Care contracts for all scheduled care dates can be found in the DWS Blackbaud Portal.
Vacation care has several contracted pick up times. If less than four children are contracted per pick up time, the program will close for that time segment. For example, if two children are contracted to stay until 5:30 p.m., but five children are contracted to stay until 4:00 p.m., the vacation care program will end at 4:00 p.m.

Field Trips
Field Trips are a key component of the hands-on education Davis Waldorf students receive. From their first day trip in 3rd grade, to their epic 8th grade adventure, our students have many incredible opportunities to learn in different locations throughout California (and beyond). In order to make these trips possible, certain forms must be submitted prior the field trip.
Please refer to the table below to see what forms you will need to submit to the office (email: registrar@daviswaldorf.org).
For more details on the specific forms, please visit the Field Trip page on the website.
