Meet the Teachers...
Cayley Arndt, Camp Director
I am very excited to be working in the preschool at Davis Waldorf. The growth that occurs during this period is beautiful and a privilege to watch, and I am honored to be here. I received my Masters in Infant Mental Health from Mills College, and my bachelors in Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies from Cal State Bakersfield. I have over 7 years of experience working with young children. Before Davis Waldorf I lead a mixed aged Infant/Toddler classroom at Mills College Children School. Additionally, I worked at a therapeutic preschool in San Francisco working with children between the ages of 0-3. While in school I was also a student teacher in a Transitional Kindergarten and fifth grade classroom.
Working with this age group offers many opportunities to learn and grow professionally and to view the world with many different lenses. I cannot wait to see what learning will occur and where this year will take us. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending my free time reading (mostly non-fiction), hiking, and going on long walks around my neighborhood.
I have had the pleasure of being a part of the Kindergarten program for 2 years at Davis Waldorf. Learning Waldorf’s philosophy and practice has been such a joy and blessing in my life. Before finding Waldorf, I worked as an early childhood educator in Solano County for over ten years. I earned my Early Childhood Education certificate from Solano Community College and I am currently attending Sacramento City College. In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling, and writing poetry.
I am pleased to be working at Davis Waldorf with the early childhood classes. I have been working with children since I started babysitting at 11 years old. I have my degree in Graphic Design from Irvine Valley College and ECE units. I have been working in a preschool setting since 2011. I absolutely love watching the growth in a child at this precious age! In my spare time, I dabble in graphic design, hang out with my 2 dogs, or go on drives with my husband. I love introducing children to classic stories and fairytales with my collection of books. I've always been a dreamer and a kid at heart
Hi! My name is Mira Sahoo, and I am an Assistant
Teacher at Waldorf Elementary. I am a mom of two,
one who is in college and one is in junior high. I
love to garden, cook, and spend time with my
family. I’ve earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s in
Economics in India, but my love for children drew
me to the field of education. I’ve been working with
kids for over five years, and I’ve worked at Korematsu Elementary School, Catalyst Kids,
Merryhill Preschool, and Waldorf Elementary. My main goal while working with kids is
to provide them with an engaging and safe learning environment, where intellectual
growth is fostered yet the kids still have fun. I look forward to meeting your child!
DWS will not be offering Summergarden Grades Camp this summer (2021) due to lack of staffing. We sincerely regret that we are not able to provide summer care for our grades students this year. If you have questions about the decision to cancel the program, please reach out to Eden Tomich at email@example.com.
We offer different after school electives throughout the year. Participation in electives may be cancelled and a full refund will be available within two days after the first class. Come for one class and try it out! After that time, no refunds or make-up time will be issued for missed classes.
There will be no Fall Sports. Further updates will be coming regarding if we may have Winter basketball.
In order for your child to participate in the Sports Program, all athletes and their parent(s) will need to read, sign and return the following documents to the office:
