Posted On: 11/15/2018 4:50 PM
Dear Parents and Colleagues,

Air quality levels are continuing to be in the unhealthy/very unhealthy range and the current level has risen to 270. Davis Waldorf School’s aftercare is cancelled today and students are being kept inside until the end of the day. School will be closed tomorrow, Friday, November 16th.

We are continuing to monitor and assess the air quality and initial predictions for next week are indicating increased levels of unhealthy air. We are considering closing Vacation Care on Monday and Tuesday and will notify those parents as soon as we can.

Dear Parents and Colleagues,

As we continue to monitor the air quality readings from both airnow.gov and purpleair.com we wanted to give you an update.

While the air quality is in the very low range of unhealthy at 152 (unhealthy range 150-200) we are primarily keeping the children inside. As you might imagine, this is challenging for students and teachers alike to stay inside all day.

Notice to Families Regarding Air Quality

Posted On: 11/13/2018 11:07 AM
Dear DWS Families and Colleagues,

As the smoke of lost homes, flora, fauna and dreams fills our valley, we are mindful of the families experiencing such devastating losses.

The safety of our students is a primary concern. With air quality moving into the hazardous ranges, Davis Waldorf School is closely monitoring air quality numbers. We will be keeping students inside when the numbers go into the unhealthy range and ask that you pick up your students right away after school if they are not going to extended care. Extended care students will be kept inside.

Halloween Festival

Posted On: 11/13/2018 11:20 AM
Here at Davis Waldorf School, we celebrate Halloween with a blend of the old and the new. Children fourth grade and younger and their parents will enjoy the "Protected Path," a journey through the world of vignettes, fairy tales, and far-off lands. Led by an "Angel Guide," they hear stories and gather treats along the way. On the "Perilous Path" we give children grades 5 and up a chance to venture into the world of darkness in a way that is both safe and a bit challenging.
